Kuala Lumpur, 10 March 2026 — A delegation from the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment, Sarawak (MINTRED), led by its Permanent Secretary Datu Lester Matthew, paid a courtesy call today on Dato' Hairil Yahri Yaacob, Secretary General of the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), to discuss key development priorities and strengthen cooperation in trade and investment.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on infrastructure projects aimed at supporting economic development in Sarawak, as well as potential areas of collaboration in international trade and investment.
The discussion also focused on enhancing the sharing of business intelligence between Sarawak and agencies under MITI. Key sectors highlighted included the halal industry, advanced manufacturing, and strategies to improve market access for businesses.
