KUCHING: Sarawak entrepreneurs who participated in the Malaysia International Halal Exhibition (MIHAS) 2023 managed to achieve direct and contract sales exceeding RM670,000.

MIHAS 2023 took place at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC) Kuala Lumpur from 12 to 15 September.

Sarawak's Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment (MINTRED) in a statement today said 10 Sarawak entrepreneurs consisting of nine food and beverage entrepreneurs and one handicraft entrepreneur were selected to participate in MIHAS this year. 

Among the products highlighted are instant kolok noodles, Sarawak coffee, Sarawak chocolate, apong sugar products and Sarawak handicrafts. 

MIHAS 2023 is an annual expo program that houses local and international halal industry players in the food, pharmaceutical, health, finance, fashion, cosmetics and personal care, green technology, IT and Muslim-friendly tourism industries.

This year, MIHAS is implemented as a hybrid of physical and virtual exhibitions. 

MIHAS is organized by the Malaysian Foreign Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Halal Development Corporation Berhad (HDC), and the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) and is attended by more than 600 exhibitors from 40 countries. 

The four-day program was inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
