KUCHING: The Sarawak Digital Mall campaign on TikTok Shop and the GoDigital 2024 initiative were officially launched to boost the e-commerce adoption and sales performance of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sarawak. According to a statement, through similar initiatives, SDEC and Tiktok Shop have delivered e-commerce training and seller incubation programmes to more than 1,000 entrepreneurs in Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Serian, Sri Aman, and Kapit since June 2023. “In 2023, with solid support from MINTRED, these trained sellers were given promotional incentives and seller missions to boost the visibility of their products in the Tiktok Shop app, resulting in a 118 per cent increase in orders and an 86 per cent increase in Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) compared to before the start of this programme,” it said.
It added that following the success of this initiative in 2023, MINTRED, SDEC, and Tiktok Shop launched the exclusive Sarawak Digital Mall campaign on the number one video-sharing app in the region, aiming to extend this opportunity to more MSMEs in Sarawak.
“The Sarawak Digital Mall Campaign on the Tiktok Shop platform can be accessed at bit.ly/SarawakDigitalMall,” it said. The said campaign was launched by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; SDEC Chief Executive Officer Sudarnoto Osman; and TikTok Shop Malaysia Partnership Manager Nur Azre at the Showcase Usahawan Sarawak (SUS) 2024 event held at Bintang Megamall, Miri on July 27.
